Switch a domain to the TryNxt name servers and set DNS records
With our name servers you connect your domain to a server, game server or mail provider in one click, and DNSSEC runs automatically.
Domains you order at TryNxt already use our name servers. If you entered your own or other name servers earlier, switching is worth it: you can then connect the domain in one click, and we set up DNSSEC automatically.
Switch to the TryNxt name servers
- Open Domains, your domain and the Name servers & DNSSEC tab.
- Click Use TryNxt nameservers and then Switch now.
We take over your existing DNS records. Beforehand the panel shows how many records come along and which do not. The switch only happens once our name servers already serve the records, so there is no gap in which your domain points nowhere.
It can take a few hours until all resolvers on the internet know the new name servers. During that time old and new answers both work, because we took over the records.
Connect in one click
In the Connect tab you choose what to connect the domain to:
| Tile | What we set |
|---|---|
| Own server | A and AAAA to your VPS addresses, optionally also www and reverse DNS |
| Game server | A and, where the game supports it, SRV with the right port |
| Redirect | our servers redirect to another address, HTTPS included |
| ready-made records for Google, Microsoft or your own mail server | |
| DynDNS | a name that always points to your connection at home |
| Certificates | CAA so that only Let’s Encrypt may issue certificates |
Before anything changes, the panel shows which records are created and which are replaced.
Set records by hand
In the DNS records tab you create everything else. A few typical examples:
| Name | Type | Value |
|---|---|---|
@ |
A | 10.0.0.25 |
www |
CNAME | example.com. |
@ |
MX | 10 mail.example.com. |
@ |
TXT | v=spf1 mx -all |
@ stands for the domain itself. A dot at the end of a name means it is fully qualified.
Check
dig NS example.com +short
dig A example.com +short
Or without a command line using our free DNS & mail check, which also checks DNSSEC.
Your own name servers remain possible
If you prefer to run your zone yourself, enter two to five name servers under Own nameservers in the Name servers & DNSSEC tab. Connect, redirects and automatic DNSSEC are then not available; you maintain your records there.
