Is your game server online?

Pick the game, enter the address. We query the server from the outside and show what it answers: player count, version, map, description and response time.

How the query works

The query does not run from your computer but from one of our monitoring locations on the internet, the way a player sees your server from outside. For Minecraft (Java) we use the Server List Ping that the game itself uses for the server list; for Bedrock the RakNet ping. Counter-Strike 2, Rust, ARK, Valheim, Garry's Mod and other Steam games answer the Source engine A2S query, Unreal games such as Tactical Ops and UT99 the GameSpy query.

Without a port we use the game's default port. For Minecraft (Java) we also follow an SRV record, just like the Minecraft client when you only give it a name.

Offline although it is running?

Usually it is one of three things: the firewall does not let the port through (TCP for Minecraft, UDP for Bedrock, Source and Unreal), the router forwarding is missing, or you are querying the wrong port. Many games do not answer queries on the game port but on a separate query port, for Valheim and Unturned that is game port + 1, for Rust the "query port" from the server configuration.

Behind a DS-Lite or CGNAT connection (common with cable and fibre) there is no public IPv4 address of your own, a server there cannot be reached over IPv4 from outside at all. For a server that runs around the clock, renting one is the better choice.

FAQ

Do you store which servers I query?

No. To limit abuse we count queries per address and per target for a short time; results are cached for up to 20 seconds so that reloading does not query the server again. We do not request player names at all.

Why does the response time differ from my ping?

The response time is measured by our monitoring location, not by your computer. Depending on where your server is, it will be shorter or longer than your in-game ping.

My game is missing from the list.

Many Steam games answer A2S, choose "Other Source/Steam games" and enter the query port. Feel free to tell us which game you are missing.
